Ristorante Antico Fossati

It’s hard to go wrong in Monza when searching for restaurants, as even the most humble pizzeria will likely knock spots off any equivalent back home.

But if you’re looking to push the boat out a little and indulge yourself one evening during a race weekend, look no further than Antico Ristorante Fossati near Triuggio, just a 13 minute drive from the circuit.

One of a small cluster of restaurants in a pretty countryside village, Fossati is well known to regular race goers seeking exquisite food and charming ambience.

A beautiful historic building with barrel-vaulted ceilings and exposed brickwork inform the atmosphere inside, while a table in the attractive courtyard garden is definitely best suited to a warm summer’s night.

The food is delicious. Expect (un)healthy portions of traditional Italian dishes such as Risotto alla Milanese with Ossobuco, Ravioli Di Zucca, local polenta with meats and cheeses etc, all prepared to a high standard. If you’ve already qualified your car on pole position and can afford to lose a few tenths, Tiramisu and chestnut gelato await among the dessert temptations.

Advanced booking is highly recommended (if not essential), particularly for large groups.

When busy, the service can be a little painful, but if you’re not in a rush the food and wine will certainly make up for it.
