The Ascari Project | Episode 1: Restoration
How often does the chance arise to buy an entire Le Mans team and restore the cars to their former glory in readiness for a return to competitive life as historic racers? Well, that's precisely what we've done.
The Ascari A410 (or KZR1 as it was later rebadged) was an LMP900 sports racing car designed for the premier categories of top tier, international endurance racing. With their screaming, F1-derived Judd V10 engines and the team's staus as the 'David' to the factory team 'Goliaths' , the Ascaris captured the hearts and minds of race fans the world over. By rights the car shouldn't have stood a chance against the bigger marques, but with front row qualifying positions in Daytona and Monza, and an overall victory in Donington, the Ascari etched itself into the history books as a deserving winner. After two decades in hibernation, all three cars are in now being restored in readiness for a return to the race track in just a few months from now. Join us on our journey as we breathe life back into the fabulous old warriors.
