Video: presenting the historic Nasamax-Judd LMP1

Featuring technology that was years ahead of its time, the 2004 Reynard-based Nasamax not only became the first ever sports prototype built to the now legendary LMP1 regulations, but was also the first ever car to complete the 24 Hours of Le Mans using entirely renewable fuel - an extraordinary feat, particularly while clocking a whopping 346kph (215mph) along the Mulsanne straight to record the fastest top speed of all competing cars that year.

As we all know, renewable fuels are a hot topic today, including at Le Mans - the ACO having recently announced that TotalEnergies will be offering an entirely renewable biofuel to next year’s competitors. But it all started nearly twenty years ago, with a small group of scientists and race engineers from the south of England, driven by a shared passion for competition-derived technologies.

Courtesy of our friends at Rockhurst, please enjoy this short video presentation of the truly historic Nasamax DM139.
